Walking I will go....

Amazon- I love amazon.com and the app in my iphone. I use it Alot probably too much. Its just so darn easy. I can find everything i need to purchase right there. Its on my door step within days. Or on the doorstep of a freind or relative for the perfect birthday/anniversary/wedding/christmas gift etc! Its changed my life.for good mostly.... But i think its also hurt my health. Isn't that crazy? I used to drive and walk and drive and walk and walk and walk all over the stores and the post office. Now im lazy and sit at the computer at my desk or on my sofa with my phone and substitute the exercise i used to do (however small it was) And yes i would park far away so i got in more steps on my apple watch or whatever tracker i had on my wrist. We don't even care anymore. But I do care and thats why i had to get it off my chest here on my blog. I WILL do more exercise..Im comitted! And yes,  we have a trip planned to the city The big Apple NYC ..a city we love and we love to walk there...everywhere there We are signed up for 3 days of walking tours to central park. So with a trip planned and only 3 weeks away i will increase my steps/heart rate/movement.

I love General Conference... and the Prophet, Pres. Thomas S. Monson

Almost 53 years. That’s how long President Thomas S. Monson has been preparing general conference addresses as part of his lifelong service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a new Apostle in 1963 to President of the Church in 2008, President Monson has always seemed to have a gift to integrate personal stories with gospel principles in a way that speaks right to your heart and motivates you to try a little harder to follow Jesus Christ. Even in his advancing age, President Monson still carries with him that gift to inspire and uplift.
So what did the prophet say at this general conference that is so important for our day? On Sunday morning he announced four new temples and expressed his gratitude for the blessings we receive because of the 150 operating temples on the earth today.
In his talks, I identified these key messages that our dear prophet felt impressed to share with the world—important invitations, I believe, the Lord sent through him just for you and for me.

Remember Who You Are

President Monson extended this invitation to the brethren during the general priesthood session, but I believe it’s a principle every woman can live by too: “Remember who you are and what God expects you to become. You are a child of promise. You are a man of might. You are a son of God.”
We are children of promise, and as such we need to follow the prophet’s counsel to stand in holy places and live worthy of the divine title “a chosen generation.”

Always Be Worthy

President Monson pleaded with men holding the priesthood to “guard and protect that priesthood” and to “always be worthy to call upon its power, for we never know when our need and our opportunity to do so may come.”
With the great power of the priesthood and its special blessings come solemn responsibilities.
“May we determine, here and now, ever to be prepared for our time of need, our time of service, our time of blessing.”

Choose Faith

During a time when people are dealing with doubts and questions about God, faith, and religion, the prophet gave the perfect answer. How you navigate it is up to you.
“May we choose to build up within ourselves a great and powerful faith which will be our most effective defense against the designs of the adversary—a real faith, the kind of faith which will sustain us and will bolster our desire to choose the right.”

Have Courage to Choose Christ

President Monson taught this principle by sharing a snippet of the story of Alice in Wonderland. He talked about how when Alice was at a crossroads and asked which path she should take, the Cheshire Cat answered, “That depends where you want to go. If you do not know where you want to go, it doesn’t matter which path you take.”
President Monson reminded us that we know which path to take. We have a goal to return to live with our Heavenly Father, so we must “maintain the courage to defy the consensus,” even if that means choosing “the harder right instead of the easier wrong.”
“As we contemplate the decisions we make in our lives each day—whether to make this choice or that—if we choose Christ, we will have made the correct choice.”
Remember who you are. Live worthy of the titles “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood.” Choose to strengthen your faith. And always choose Christ.
Words to live by from a prophet of God. Words especially spoken for you and for me.

December 27th

I have decided to journal all my thoughts. I'm not going to worry about anyone reading this It is purely for my own therapy and the documentation I will give my children at a much later date.

My first thoughts are happy due to the fact that my son Joseph will be coming to finally live with us next Friday. I look forward to the challendge of instilling in him a desire to serve the Lord though a mission and the rest of his life. He is a good hearted boy and just needs some watching over and firm guidance. I'm grateful John has agreed to provide him with all of his needs. He will be returning to Utah at the end of School becuase there are golf tournments he has signed up for.

I just wrote cute ELder Nielsen a long letter I will be sending on monday
